International Business Development Consultant – Financing for Innovation in Science & Industry

Are you a self-employed professional seeking a flexible, part-time sales opportunity? Would you like to complement your existing business with a rewarding partnership in the world of scientific and industrial innovation?

Then this could be the perfect opportunity for you! We are currently looking for a Business Development Consultant who wants to join forces with Ventura Global to help manufacturers of scientific equipment grow their sales across the UK market.

About Ventura Global

Ventura Global provides tailored solutions for the procurement, upgrading, and use of scientific equipment. We simplify the process of purchasing, replacing, or extending the use of instruments through innovative financing options. Our model also creates opportunities to acquire pre-owned equipment under attractive terms—ideal for situations where cutting-edge technology is not essential, or budgets are limited.

The Role

As a Business Development Consultant (UK), you will play a key role in strengthening and expanding our presence in the UK market. Customer communication is an essential part of the position, though it is primarily conducted via email and virtual meetings (Teams/Zoom). Ventura Global is currently a small, close-knit team of six. While the role requires a high degree of independence, you will have continuous support and guidance from the management team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Promote Ventura Global’s financing solutions to both suppliers and end-users
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and distributors of laboratory and scientific equipment
  • Present proposals and negotiate agreements with prospective clients
  • Identify resale opportunities for pre-owned equipment, creating a second revenue stream through commissions on previously rented instruments

Who are we looking for?

You are an entrepreneurial, result-oriented professional with a passion for innovation and a strong interest in science and technology. You excel at building long-term relationships and take a consultative approach to sales, understanding client needs and aligning them with tailored solutions. You’re comfortable working independently, proactively identifying opportunities, and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders in the scientific and industrial space.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in business, marketing/sales, or technical discipline
  • Previous experience in selling or servicing laboratory equipment—or working with similar high-tech sales cycles
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts or a strong willingness to learn
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Fluent in English
  • Valid driver’s license (category B)
  • Comfortable with a part-time (20-40%), flexible role tailored to self-employed professionals

What we offer

Since 2011, Ventura Global has operated in a specialized market focused on scientific instruments for research, quality control, environmental monitoring, and diagnostics. Ventura Global offers a flexible, engaging opportunity in a specialized and international business environment. You’ll collaborate with some of the world’s leading manufacturers, gain access to a niche but growing market, and contribute to advancing science and innovation. You will become part of a highly knowledgeable and truly committed team.
