Professional Galaxy is looking for a Java Developer on behalf of our client.

We are now seeking a Java Developer for a consulting assignment under the framework agreement Kammarkollegiet IT consulting services – Sub-area 4 Architecture and development.

The client develops and maintains several systems that support the authority's technical services. The development work is carried out in cross-functional and self-organizing teams with an agile approach. To meet the needs of the business and ensure continued development and maintenance of these systems, the client needs to strengthen its development teams with external expertise.

This is a consulting assignment with the client, not an employment.

The Assignment The assignment concerns one (1) full-stack developer who will strengthen the development activities. The consultant will work with both frontend and backend development within the framework of the company's digital services and internal systems.

Initial placement is in teams responsible for systems related to the company's department for Urban Planning. The teams develop and maintain services in areas such as water web, climate, and air quality.

The work is carried out agilely in self-organizing teams, with daily leadership from a team coach. The consultant is expected to actively contribute to the team's joint work and knowledge sharing.

Job responsibilities include, among others: -Development and further development of web services and backend functionality -Participation in requirement breakdown and technical solution discussions -Design and implementation of user interfaces -Collaboration with product owners/clients and other team members -Active knowledge transfer within the team -The company uses Linux as the target environment. -Backend development is done with technologies such as Java and Python. -Frontend development is done with JavaScript, CSS, QGIS, and other relevant web technologies. -Database platform: PostgreSQL.

The company reserves the right to place the consultant in another team during the contract period based on the needs of the business.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS • The experience must relate to actual and active use of the specified technologies in assignments. Work experience claimed for multiple requirements may overlap in time. The total work experience must correspond to 100% of a full-time position for the requested period and must not be older than ten (10) years.

• Competence level 4 (9-12).

• The offered consultant must carry out the assignment at SMHI's premises in Norrköping

• At least three (3) years of documented work experience in responsive frontend development with JavaScript and/or TypeScript as well as HTML and CSS. The work must have included the development of well-structured and maintainable code.

• At least one (1) year of documented work experience in frontend development with React as a modern JavaScript framework/library.

• At least three (3) years of documented work experience in backend development of web services and APIs in Java. The experience must relate to the development and maintenance of server code in a production environment.

• Fluent command of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form, as well as good knowledge in both spoken and written English.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS • At least one (1) year of documented work experience in backend development of web services and APIs in Python.

• At least two (2) years of documented work experience in using Git and GitLab for issue and version management, as well as establishing and using CI/CD pipelines in team-based system development projects.

• At least two (2) years of documented work experience in working with automated testing of frontend and/or backend code, for example through unit and integration tests.

• At least one (1) year of documented work experience in working with geodata and mapping services in connection with the development of web applications, for example with the support of QGIS.

Reference • The bid must include contact details for a person who can verify that the information about the offered consultant is correct. For the reference to be approved, the consultant must have completed previous assignments without major deviations regarding competence, agreed time, and quality.

• Note: The company can be stated as a reference for previous assignments. However, be aware that a conflict of interest may arise if the specified person participates in the work with the current procurement. Therefore, contact the intended reference person before submitting the bid.

-Remote: Some possibility for remote work may be granted after agreement with the company, provided that the needs of the business allow it and that the consultant is assessed to be able to perform the assignment with maintained delivery and availability.
