Welcome to the Nephrology Clinic and our wonderful dialysis unit at Centralsjukhuset Karlstad! The operation is part of the medical specialties area. We are a great team in need of a few more colleagues. With us, you will work in a pleasant work environment with stimulating tasks and have the opportunity for professional development.

At the dialysis unit, there are a total of 22 patient places where patients come to receive their kidney replacement treatment (hemodialysis) and 6 patient places at the self-dialysis unit where patients perform parts of or their entire dialysis treatment themselves (self-care). Some patients perform their hemodialysis treatment at home after training at the self-dialysis unit.

Our working hours are Monday to Friday, day (07:00-15:30) and evening (11:30-20:00), as well as Saturday-Sunday day (07:30-15:30).

Your tasks

As a nurse, you will lead and be responsible for hemodialysis treatments, plan and organize the daily operations, and be the primary responsible for patients regarding rounds and sampling. Nurses and nursing assistants work in teams around the patients where they have good support from each other. The dialysis unit has both planned and acute operations. The majority of patients have chronic kidney failure and need hemodialysis treatment several times a week. As staff, you will therefore have close contact with the patients. Since the work also involves handling technical equipment, it is beneficial to have a certain technical interest.

The onboarding is individually tailored over 10-12 weeks, and you will have two main supervisors.

Knowledge and competencies

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. If you have previous experience in nursing or have prior experience in dialysis operations, we see it as an advantage. We also prefer that you have a technical interest.

As a person, we see that you easily adapt to changing circumstances and are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. You are someone who enjoys working in a team as collaboration is a significant part of the job. We also see that you have a positive view of your work and the organization as a whole, where you can also see the bigger picture and consider the broader perspective. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
