Social Worker for Child and Youth Investigation Group

Who are you

The Child and Youth Investigation Group at the Social Services Office is expanding its team with an additional position as we are committed to maintaining a stable workforce that benefits both employees and the families we work with.

We are looking for someone eager to work in a driven team where everyone's competencies are valued and where innovative solutions and collaboration characterize the investigative work. You may have prior experience in public authority work, but we also welcome applicants who have a strong drive to learn and grow into the role of social worker with us.

What can we offer you

As a social worker in our child and youth investigation group, you will handle cases involving children and youth aged 0-18 years together with your colleagues. In this role, you need to be able to switch pace, balance documentation requirements with the importance of personal meetings and conversations with children, youth, and their families. We investigate cases according to SoL, LVU, and LBSB.

Your future tasks

We view investigative work as a change process, and it is common for you to collaborate with others within IFO even during the investigation period, such as family therapists or adult caseworkers. In Finspång, all children and youth placed in foster homes or HVB have their own social worker in a special follow-up group that takes over if it turns out that the child or youth cannot remain in their home environment. This allows us to conduct qualitative investigative work while actively working in all our placement cases. For us, it is obvious that children are the focus, and you therefore need to understand the importance of conversing with children and working for their participation in all matters concerning them.

To thrive with us, you need to be interested in and preferably familiar with the Signs of Safety approach, as the entire IFO in Finspång operates based on this method. We are proud that we know today that you, regardless of where in the organization you work, can feel secure in knowing that managers and colleagues from all groups, as well as yourself, will have a common approach in the work. When you start with us, you will receive basic training in Signs of Safety if you do not already have it. The Signs of Safety approach is based on striving for close collaboration with the families' own networks, and you need to understand the importance of allowing those we meet to find and test their own solutions, where we as social services do not take on the role of experts.

We apply co-case management when necessary but prefer that you have the courage to work independently on cases when possible. The foundation is always that you should feel secure in your work and receive support from colleagues and managers in the tasks that are part of your daily work. To ensure this, we hold weekly group meetings where the responsible manager participates. In these group meetings, we guide each other in a structured case supervision process according to Signs of Safety. In addition to weekly group meetings, you will have dedicated time with the group manager for case support at least once a month or more often if needed. The responsible manager is also available in daily operations and sits with you and your workgroup. When you are new to the workplace, you will also receive a mentor who supports you a little extra in daily life until you have settled into the work.

Finspång's social services are characterized by courage, collaboration across boundaries, and engagement among employees. Therefore, we aim for all employees to have the opportunity to, in addition to everyday client work, drive some form of development work and that all our interventions are matched according to needs. This means that you will have the opportunity to contribute to quality-enhancing work in some form and that you can expect that even you as an investigator may need to step outside your role to meet families' needs in the best way.

Who are you

You have a degree in social work and preferably experience in public authority work at a social services office. We place great importance on previous experiences, personal suitability, and the ability to remain calm in demanding situations. We expect you to express yourself well in both speech and writing.

Other

A driver's license is required.

Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period.
