About us

The Department of Oral Diagnostics and Surgery conducts research and provides basic education in oral biomedicine, maxillofacial surgery, oral radiology, and orofacial medicine. We are now looking for a lecturer in maxillofacial surgery at the Department of Dentistry. We seek a PhD dentist who can participate in research and the education of dental students, dental hygiene students, and KUT in maxillofacial surgery. The department's research focuses on oral diagnostics, orofacial medicine, and surgery. We have a close collaboration with the specialist clinic at University Dental Care, where clinical skills training is conducted.

Your role

We are looking for someone with specialist training in maxillofacial surgery and a PhD dentist with research experience in dental epidemiology and maxillofacial surgery. This is a permanent position at 40%.

There are good opportunities to conduct research and development work, develop leadership skills, and collaborate both nationally and internationally. The position can be linked to the new research group in Integrative Dentistry. The position includes clinical work across the entire spectrum of maxillofacial surgery.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive research activities at various levels
  • Participate in the basic education for dentists, dental hygienists, and KUT in maxillofacial surgery and related subjects

Who are you?

Requirements:

  • Specialist dentist in maxillofacial surgery with a license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare
  • PhD dentist
  • Research in dental epidemiology and maxillofacial surgery
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Meritorious:

  • Experience in teaching and supervision in maxillofacial surgery
  • Experience in hospital-based maxillofacial surgery
  • Participation in course activities at the continuing education level
  • Pedagogical training
  • Good pedagogical skills

We are looking for someone with high competence in maxillofacial surgery to work independently in oral diagnostics and surgery. Research interest is essential as we strive to develop and increase our research activities. Your research area should be within oral epidemiology and maxillofacial surgery. You should also have pedagogical skills with an interest in participating in the development and improvement of the education conducted at the department.

We are looking for a person who has the ability to see the whole picture and can focus their efforts based on the needs of the organization and to ensure that the subject group functions well. It is very important that you have an exceptionally good ability to collaborate, demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and social competence. Other personal qualities that are valuable for this position are good patience and service-mindedness. Since the position includes multiple assignments, we work together for an efficient working method with prioritization of tasks. In evaluating candidates, we place particular emphasis on research, pedagogical and personal qualities, as well as the willingness to develop the organization.
