Does it sound appealing to work in a combined role as a family therapist and team leader? Then you are warmly welcome to apply for the position of Family Investigator and Team Leader with us at Övernäs Emergency and Investigation Home!

About Övernäs Emergency and Investigation Home

Övernäs Emergency and Investigation Home is a municipal HVB with ten places. We work on behalf of the Social Administration. Our youth are between 13 and 20 years old, and most stay with us for a period of two to three months. Many of the youth have neuropsychiatric issues, and based on this, we consciously work with individual requirements and adaptations. We are currently in an implementation phase of the Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) approach. Around each youth is a team consisting of a team leader, investigator, contact persons, teachers, and psychologists. The team strives to make the placement work and proposes interventions after the investigation period.

Job Description

As a Family Investigator and Team Leader, you are responsible for one of the most important parts of the investigation while also being the "spider in the web" during the youth's placement. Together with your team, you are responsible for ensuring that the stay and investigation for the youth and family is as positive and meaningful an intervention as possible. The investigations are conducted in a process form where you, together with the youth and parents, explore and create a deeper understanding of the background to the issues that have arisen and, based on this, specify the support they need to bring about a change in the situation. In this way, positive change work often begins during the investigation period.

You will also be the team leader and have overall responsibility for issues related to the youth's placement with us. In addition to contact with the youth themselves, you will maintain contact with guardians, social services, and other important people and agencies regarding the youth's stay with us and planning for the future. An important role is also to coordinate the team's work by holding meetings and coordinating the everyday work around the youth.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or psychology, along with a two-year training in systems theory or other education in family therapy. To succeed in this role, you need to have several years of experience in the profession and experience working with youth and families. The work also requires you to be able to express yourself effectively and quickly in writing and to speak and understand Swedish fluently.

It is advantageous, but not a requirement, if you also:

  • have basic training in Signs of Safety
  • have basic psychotherapy training, preferably with a focus on family
  • have experience working in social services
  • have experience working in HVB
  • are familiar with community interventions for youth and families
  • have experience with neuropsychiatric disabilities
  • hold a B driver's license.

As a person, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and can quickly change your perspective and approach. You have the ability to see opportunities in changes. It is also important that you remain calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations where you can maintain a realistic perspective and focus on the right things. The work also requires you to collaborate well with others and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. As a team leader, you coordinate and lead the group to achieve common goals and create engagement and participation. Additionally, you plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively and meet set deadlines.
