Make a difference. Every day.

Do you want to help build a new specialist service from the ground up and work person-centered with patients who have complex and long-term needs? We are now looking for a psychologist for our new post-infection clinic for adults in Malmö. The rehabilitation clinic for post-infectious symptoms is being established to offer structured and equitable care for patients with long-term post-infectious symptoms such as post-COVID and ME/CFS. The service will start on April 1st and has a regional mandate within the Southern healthcare region.

The clinic receives individuals over 18 years old with at least six months of symptoms after infection or other long-term and complex fatigue conditions, where other somatic or psychiatric causes have been excluded. The patient group often has a complex symptom profile including pronounced fatigue, post-exertional malaise (PEM), pain, cognitive difficulties, and reduced functional ability. The work is team-based and interprofessional, focusing on in-depth assessment, initiation of treatment and rehabilitation, as well as planned referral back to primary care and local rehabilitation resources.

The service is located in Malmö in newly renovated premises and is co-located with other rehabilitation services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a psychologist, you will be responsible for psychological assessments including cognitive function and how these affect daily life and work ability. You will map the patient's emotional and psychological status, including stress, anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation, and assess the risk of mental illness. You will also analyze psychosocial functioning, such as relationships, social support, motivation, and coping strategies in daily life.

During the initial rehabilitation phase, you will provide psychological support and guidance focusing on coping, stress management, and adaptation to long-term illness, in close collaboration with the rest of the team.

Additionally, you will contribute to service development by improving work methods, routines, and care processes, as well as collaborating with primary care and other stakeholders during referrals and follow-ups. Digital healthcare contacts may occur when appropriate.

We offer you the opportunity to help establish a new specialist clinic with significant patient value. You will work in a cross-professional team and have the chance to influence the service's working methods, content, and development. The position also offers good conditions for professional development in an area where the need for care is great and the knowledge base is evolving.
