Make a difference. Every day.
Do you want to make a real difference in people's lives in a warm, engaging, and developing work environment? We are now looking for two new vision pedagogues for our adult vision reception in Malmö. One of our employees is moving on to new exciting challenges and another is retiring. Therefore, we welcome two new colleagues who want to contribute with their skills and commitment.
The vision, hearing, and deaf services, which are part of the psychiatric and habilitation area, target people of all ages with visual impairment/blindness, hearing impairment/deafness, deafblindness, and tinnitus.
The adult vision reception is a unit within the vision, hearing, and deaf services and is aimed at adults with visual impairment/blindness and their networks. We offer rehabilitation efforts both individually and in groups. The interventions are provided transprofessionally by vision pedagogues, optometrists, social workers, and psychologists.
Our unit has an overarching responsibility in Skåne, with staff placed in Malmö, Lund, Helsingborg, and Kristianstad. We are a total of about 40 employees within the vision unit, of which 13 are staff at the reception in Malmö.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We now welcome two new vision pedagogue colleagues to a workplace with a good atmosphere and friendly colleagues, where we work transprofessionally in teams and take advantage of the extensive skills of our employees.
In the role of vision pedagogue with us, you will be part of a team with close collaboration to offer the patient the best possible rehabilitation. Your tasks include mapping, testing, training, and prescribing optical and technical aids as well as training compensatory techniques. Furthermore, the role of vision pedagogue involves providing information, advice, and support.
The position is located in Malmö.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you who are a licensed occupational therapist or optometrist with the authority to operate within Swedish healthcare, or you with another higher education degree that is deemed relevant for the position. It is also a requirement to have language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale. Additionally, we would like you to have further education in the field of vision and knowledge of and interest in technology, as many of our aids are technical. Furthermore, you are an experienced computer user and have good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. Additionally, it is an advantage if you have experience working in rehabilitation, habilitation, and/or the field of vision. Since part of the work takes place in the patient’s immediate environment, it is also desirable that you have a valid B driver's license.
You are an unpretentious, creative, and solution-focused person with good collaboration skills and a development-oriented working method. This means you are knowledge-seeking, communicative, and have an easy time both conveying information and listening to others.
The work may involve rapid changes in everyday life, and to thrive with us, you need to be able to maintain an overview, plan, and create structure even when conditions shift. A salutogenic perspective, focusing on what is healthy and works, is a central part of our work and something we hope you share. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
A background check will be conducted before any employment.
Warmly welcome with your application, we look forward to getting to know you!
