The pediatric anesthesia and pediatric intensive care unit (BIVA) in Lund is part of Skåne University Hospital (Sus) and provides highly specialized care for children from the Southern healthcare region. Additionally, national highly specialized care (NHV assignment) is provided for, among others, children with heart diseases and pediatric surgical patients. The pediatric surgical department has six operating rooms and conducts pediatric surgery, pediatric cardiac surgery, as well as operations in orthopedics, maxillofacial surgery, neurosurgery, and more. In the pediatric intensive care unit, children are cared for postoperatively after cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, and other major surgeries, as well as other children in need of intensive care due to sepsis, trauma, neurological conditions, and more. The section also has a unit for acute pain conditions in children.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We welcome two dedicated and knowledgeable senior physicians to Pediatric Anesthesia in Lund!

Your main responsibilities with us include anesthesia and intensive care for children of all ages. You will be responsible for acute assessments and management of severely ill patients. In addition, you will actively participate in the supervision of resident physicians and contribute to the development and improvement of the unit.

The position is primarily based in Lund and includes on-call duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare and have:

• specialist competence in anesthesia and intensive care
• language skills in Swedish at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale
• completed or planned course in clinical supervision
• full-time service of at least five years (documented effective time)
• clinical skill and independence in anesthesia and intensive care
• documented teaching and supervisory merits
• disputation.

Disputation and/or specialist examination can be credited for a total of six months of clinical service.

Experience in pediatric anesthesia and pediatric intensive care, as well as completed training in SSAI's program for pediatric anesthesia and pediatric intensive care, is meritorious.

At a university hospital unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. You may have acquired this through supervision of, for example, nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training and as co- or main supervisors of doctoral students. Clearly describe in your application any completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience in supervision, and teaching at various levels.
