Within the Care and Support Administration, we have full-time as the norm. This means that all permanent employees fundamentally have a full-time position. More information about what this means for this position will be provided during a potential interview. Exceptions to the full-time norm are personal assistants.

Dalbyhemmet is located in a nature-friendly environment with a large garden that creates good opportunities for both activities and recovery. Here we work with a rehabilitative approach and offer our users an active everyday life with excursions and other planned activities.

Dalbyhemmet 2 is part of Dalbyhemmet's care home and focuses on social psychiatry. As an employee, you will be part of a team with close collaboration between colleagues, the operations manager, and licensed staff. You will work day and evening according to a schedule that is evenly distributed over the period, and the position includes work every other weekend.

An important and appreciated part of our working method is that animals and gardening are included in the operations. We have chickens, rabbits, and cats living with us, and their care is part of the daily work. We also cultivate vegetables on a larger scale, which creates additional opportunities for meaningful activities together with the users. We also see competence development as a natural part of our operations and therefore regularly conduct training together.

Your Mission

As a nursing assistant, you will work with a variety of tasks. You have an important role in direct contact with our users where you provide personal care and service efforts that make a difference in their everyday lives. You work every day to provide good care with great consideration for the users' individual needs. Your work includes performing delegated tasks from licensed staff, developing the operations and yourself in close collaboration with your colleagues. You are expected to create and maintain good contact with users, relatives, licensed staff, and other important contacts for the user. It also includes working with palliative care in the final stages of life and actively participating in teamwork around the users. As a natural part of the work, you will also document according to the Social Services Act and ensure that all information is entered correctly and follows current guidelines.

Your Background

We are looking for someone who is:

• A trained nursing assistant and holds a protected professional title according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements. You who are a care assistant may also be relevant for the position, provided you have extensive experience in elderly care and meet other competence requirements.
• Proficient in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as clear communication with patients, relatives, and colleagues, as well as accurate documentation, are central parts of the work.
• Confident in receiving and working under delegation.
• Experienced in elderly care, which allows you to quickly understand the needs and routines of the operations.
• Experience from similar roles, preferably within social psychiatry, is considered meritorious.

As a person, you are stable and have the ability to maintain both calm and focus in various situations. You orient yourself quickly and have good prioritization skills. You collaborate well with others and meet people in a responsive and smooth manner, where you listen, communicate clearly, and contribute constructively when challenges arise. The role also requires you to be service-oriented in your approach. You are calm, attentive, and accommodating, and have both the will and ability to help others and find solutions that create safety and good meetings.

As of July 1, 2023, the nursing assistant title is protected. To use the title nursing assistant, you need to provide proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023. Those with nursing assistant training but lacking proof or certificate may, during a transition period, receive the title of care assistant.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.

An employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve a military placement.
