Your Role

As a strategic buyer with us, you will be part of the purchasing organization in the Component Maintenance & Test Equipment Department. Our department delivers support solutions that span the entire lifespan of the Gripen aircraft. The solutions can vary, which means ongoing dialogue with our suppliers and updating our agreements to meet new customer requirements.

As a strategic buyer, you will be commercially responsible for a number of suppliers and various procurements on behalf of the department. In this role, you ensure cost-effective and quality-assured strategies and purchases of various types of products. You will also be responsible for communicating all relevant requirements to the suppliers, such as customer requirements, regulatory requirements, and general quality/environmental requirements. You will maintain supplier relationships and develop business relationships with several of our suppliers while continuously evaluating existing and potentially new suppliers.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• issuing requests for quotations and managing offers
• developing existing business with suppliers to find optimal and cost-effective delivery capabilities
• conducting cost analyses and continuously identifying cost savings
• negotiating, further developing, and managing supplier agreements
• being responsible for negotiations
• driving and participating in various cross-functional teams

Your Profile

We are looking for a humble and driven person who can take initiative, lead themselves and others towards set goals. You have a very good ability to structure your work with a flexible mindset. Your collaborative skills are crucial for close cooperation with colleagues and other stakeholders. Since the role is in an international environment, you must be fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and able to handle professional communication.

In addition to the above personal qualities, we see that:

• You are business-minded in your work and preferably have several years of experience in Strategic Purchasing, with both national and international suppliers
• You have a university degree in engineering or economics/law, or equivalent documented experience in qualified purchasing
• Several years of experience in negotiation, contract writing, and supplier management

A strong interest in technology and experience with aftermarket agreements and their flows are meritorious.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
