Administrator for Administrative Matters

The Jämtland Police Area is one of the police areas in the North region and operates throughout Jämtland County. The geographical area includes eight municipalities. The Local Police Area of Östersund is part of the Jämtland Police Area. Within the local police area, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and service.
We are now looking for an administrator for administrative matters to the support and service group. The position is a temporary contract with a high chance of extension.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As an administrator within the administrative legal operations, you will handle cases regarding the Public Order Act and appointments. Other administrative legal matters may also arise. Furthermore, the work involves searching legal texts, learning new legislation, and new working methods.
The role involves handling public gatherings, public events, use of public space, issuing permits for organizing sports competitions, concerts, and demonstrations, as well as matters concerning appointments and permits to use security guards. Tasks are performed in collaboration with the police operational activities. If necessary, you will support other activities with tasks relevant to the workplace.
The tasks mainly consist of reviewing incoming applications and writing decisions that you either will present to decision-makers or decide yourself. The handling takes place primarily in the police's digital case management system.
Remote work is not possible for this position. Business trips and overnight stays within the police area's locations may occur.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Completed secondary education or vocational training at the upper secondary level that the employer deems relevant
- At least 1 year of current experience in handling administrative operations that the employer deems relevant
- Very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
- Good knowledge of the Office suite and ease in learning new IT systems.
- Driver's license B
We also consider it an advantage if you have:
- Current experience in handling matters within a government agency or other public operations that the employer deems relevant, preferably within administrative law issues
- Current experience in independently managing your own cases, preferably where you have also made your own decisions that the employer finds relevant
- Current experience of external collaboration, e.g., collaboration between authorities and various community actors, preferably within administrative/permit issues that the employer deems relevant
- Current experience of internal collaboration from previous or current workplaces that the employer deems relevant.
- Current experience of administrative tasks, preferably registration and record-keeping or other tasks that the employer deems relevant.
Personal Qualities
To succeed in the role of administrator, you should enjoy working independently and with a sometimes high pace. In handling various cases, you need to be structured and meticulous in relation to existing routines and administrative requirements. You are interested in learning new legislation and new working methods.
The work requires a good ability to prioritize between tasks and, if necessary, be flexible and switch between different tasks as well as quickly adapt to the needs of the operation. You have an interest, willingness, and ability to help others solve tasks, as well as good collaboration skills. You have a pleasant demeanor and enjoy providing good service to others.
