Job Description
District nurses meet people at various stages of life and collaborate with other professional groups to work health-promoting with a focus on holistic thinking. You also work disease-preventive, provide care during illness, and offer palliative care. The work is independent and requires a good ability to make assessments and determine what actions are necessary.
As primary care becomes increasingly specialized, the demand and need for specialist-trained nurses have increased significantly. More and more care is now provided at home, and there is an increased focus on health-promoting and preventive care. As a district nurse, you have the opportunity to use your specialist knowledge to make a significant and valuable contribution to healthcare.
