Primärvårdscentrum Östergötland consists of 33 region-run health centers, Vårdcentrum Finspång, Child Health Care Unit, 1177 and emergency centers in the evenings and weekends, and the General Medicine Education Center. We conduct a broad primary care operation where we offer care to everyone throughout life; newborns, children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, and patients at the end of life.

Region Östergötland's ST training in general medicine is organized by the General Medicine Education Center (AMC), where study directors and educational secretaries coordinate side training, arrange courses and training, and participate in the design of the ST doctor's training plan. Vårdcentralen Nygatan is located in central Linköping, close to everything the city center has to offer. The health center is one of 33 region-run health centers in Primärvårdscentrum and has approximately 10,700 registered patients across a diverse age distribution. In addition to the medical clinic and child health center, the health center has several specialist nurse clinics, counseling clinics with various competencies, rehabilitation coordinators, and dietitians. We generally have good staffing and a positive work atmosphere, and we currently have about 42 employees. We work together for a professional care of our patients within the primary care assignment. In December 2026, the health center will move to completely new premises. These premises will offer opportunities for developed methods and working practices and promote enhanced collaboration between professional groups as well as good workflows. There we will develop a new modern workplace that meets tomorrow's demands for good patient care and a healthy and sustainable work life.

Job Description

You will be primarily based at Vårdcentralen Nygatan. The ST position is a permanent employment at the health center where you have your position. Initially, there will be a lot of patient consultations at the unit, but after side training, you will also work with both BVC and SÄBO (special accommodations). You will also be responsible for your own patient list. Some on-call duty is also included in the assignment. Additionally, supervision of students will be part of the assignment.

About You

You are a licensed physician holding a medical license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare. You have Swedish language skills corresponding to documented level C1, as you need to communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues fluently. If you have not completed AT or have approved Basic Competence according to BT, there is the possibility to complete BT during the first year of employment.

You have good collaboration skills and can plan, organize, and prioritize your work. You can work under occasionally pressured conditions, have good judgment, and communicate clearly. We want you to be unpretentious and enjoy working in a team, contributing to a positive work atmosphere at the unit. We place great importance on personal qualities. You should have a development focus, drive, and an interest in being a contributing part in creating the future of primary care. You thrive in a dynamic environment where you can help develop the operations with the rest of the team at the health center. You are engaged, have a professional attitude, and an interest in developing various issues related to primary care.

This is a permanent position with a start date according to agreement, full-time with a start date of April 1, 2026, or by agreement.
