Operating Room Nurse in Orthopedics

Are you interested in working with acute and planned orthopedic surgery in a highly specialized and development-driven environment? Then you should apply to the orthopedic section at Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care (ANOPIVA) at one of the country's best hospitals, the University Hospital in Linköping.

In our operating department, we offer anesthesia and surgical services to various surgical specialties. Here, high-tech advanced surgical care and acute management of trauma patients are provided. ANOPIVA is the largest clinic in Region Östergötland and provides surgical care within all surgical specialties excluding thoracic/vascular surgery. Our units perform both elective and emergency surgeries with work scheduled around the clock.

With us, you will work in a dynamic operating environment where acute and planned orthopedic surgery is performed. The focus is on trauma orthopedics, but plastic surgery and hand surgery are also performed in the same section. The University Hospital in Linköping is a national center for highly specialized burn care, which means that as an operating room nurse, you will also participate in burn surgeries.

We work with complex fractures, advanced osteosynthesis, flap surgery, and microsurgery, sometimes collaborating in multiple teams, creating a stimulating work environment where cooperation, structure, and communication are central. The work is varied with shorter and less complex procedures, providing variety in the job.

Job Description

As an operating room nurse, you will work in the orthopedic section but with some introduction to other sections to participate in on-call work. This means that your expertise develops in your home section, but you will also have knowledge of life-saving emergency surgeries in other sections.

About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse with specialized training in operating room nursing and a special interest in orthopedic trauma surgery while wanting to maintain broad emergency competence.

You should have good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form as you will communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and maturity.

The work is characterized by excitement and variation where your flexibility and problem-solving ability will be utilized. You are a curious person who wants to contribute to the development of the operations.

It is important that you enjoy teamwork and work well with others in a responsive and smooth manner. Furthermore, you are an engaged person who wants to contribute to a positive and good working environment.
