Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions
We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
Do you want to make a real difference this summer? Come and work with us at Södermalm's care and nursing homes! We have 6 care and nursing homes located in Södermalm.
Two of our homes specialize in dementia diseases, and four primarily focus on somatic care but have some places for dementia patients. One of our homes also offers short-term accommodation.
With us, you will have one of the most important jobs of the summer where your contribution is visible and appreciated every day. We offer a pleasant working environment where you can grow in your professional role and contribute to ensuring that our residents can live a dignified and secure life.
We offer
To help you feel welcome and secure in our routines, we have an introduction that provides both theoretical and practical training. We will go through the tasks that are part of your daily work together – such as care, medication delegation, reporting, documentation, as well as lifting techniques and ergonomics with various aids. The introduction lasts for a full day and will be held in May.
As a nursing assistant/care assistant, you will have scheduled working hours during the day, evening, and weekends. We are also looking for night staff. Ideally, we would like you to be able to work at least 4 consecutive weeks during the period from June to August.
When you start your job, you will have a supervisor/mentor who will guide you and who you will shadow during your first shifts to get to know both the residents and the routines.
Your role
As a nursing assistant or care assistant, you will become an important part of our team where we together create a safe and meaningful existence for our residents. We work based on assistance decisions and individual implementation plans, where the individual's participation and self-determination are always guiding us.
A typical day with us means that you support the residents in their daily lives with everything from good care and support to social interaction. This can involve personal care, assistance during meals, or contributing to a meaningful day through activities and walks in our local area. With a responsive and humble approach, you work to ensure that the residents feel security and quality of life based on their own wishes. The role also includes social documentation to ensure that we together provide care of the highest quality.
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for someone who meets one of the following requirements:
- High school or vocational education in care and nursing (degree or ongoing).
- Ongoing studies in nursing or medical programs.
- Other education or experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.
You also have:
- Knowledge of care and nursing work.
- Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.
- Computer, mobile, and system skills for documentation and reporting.
- At least 18 years old.
It is a merit if you have:
- Experience working in elderly care.
- Experience working in care and nursing.
We place great importance on the following personal qualities:
- Stable: You are secure, stress-resistant, and have personal maturity.
- Service-oriented: You are attentive to the needs of the care recipients.
- Team player: You are willing to share your knowledge and are open to learning from others.
- Empathetic: You have a genuine interest in working in the profession.
- Flexible: You easily adapt to new situations.
Your application and recruitment process
To focus on the right competencies, you do not need to attach a personal letter. Instead, we will base our decision on your CV and the selection questions you answer in your application.
We have ongoing selection and quick feedback via email and SMS.
First interview: If you proceed, you will be invited to a short interview conducted digitally via Zoom or by phone.
In-person meeting: If you proceed after the first interview, you will be scheduled for a personal meeting at the facility.
Background check: We will conduct a background check according to current guidelines.
ID card: We will ask to see your identification.
Protected professional title: A valid certificate is required for employment as a nursing assistant; otherwise, you will be employed as a care assistant.
Welcome with your application!
The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competencies and thus counteracting discrimination.
