JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to work with authority exercise and contribute to ensuring that people who need support have their rights fulfilled? As a Guardian Supervisor, you have an important mission in a socially vital operation where legal security and quality are in focus.

The Guardian Office works on behalf of the Guardian Committee, which is a municipal supervisory authority. The committee's mission is to ensure that individuals who cannot advocate for their rights - due to illness, disability, or similar conditions - receive the same rights as everyone else and are not economically or legally disadvantaged. The Guardian's operations and the assignments of representatives are regulated in the Parental Code.

The Guardian Committee is a collaborative committee between four municipalities: Nybro, Emmaboda, Torsås, and Uppvidinge. The position will be responsible, among other things, for Torsås, which means that some working hours will require you to be present in Torsås. The position is based in Nybro.

In the role of Guardian Supervisor, you will work independently to investigate incoming cases and make decisions according to the delegation order regarding, for example, temporary guardianships and changes of representatives. As a Guardian Supervisor, you will present cases to the committee and represent the Guardian in court and other authorities according to Chapter 12, Section 14 of the Code of Judicial Procedure.

From July 1, 2026, new legislation will come into effect, which among other things means that the Guardian will take over certain decision-making from the court and that the requirements for our supervision will be tightened. This makes our mission even more significant.

The work involves many contacts with representatives, individuals, relatives, and other authorities. The work also includes informing and educating within the area of operations and recruiting and training representatives, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained lawyer (270 credits), trained social worker (210 credits), economist (at least 180 credits), political scientist (at least 180 credits), or education that the employer deems equivalent.

It is meritorious if you have experience in:

• Guardian supervision, authority exercise, or other legal application
• Working in a politically governed organization.
• System experience from the operational system Wärna Go.
• Experience in recruiting representatives.
