This position is recruited through Familjen Helsingborg, and you will be employed by one of the collaborating municipalities. Familjen Helsingborg consists of eleven municipalities in northwestern Skåne, and we create added value by working together. We are: Bjuv, Båstad, Helsingborg, Höganäs, Klippan, Landskrona, Perstorp, Svalöv, Åstorp, Ängelholm, and Örkelljunga. Our collaboration also includes municipal companies.

Job Description

Do you want to help create safe, beautiful, and sustainable urban environments through light?

We are now looking for a trainee who wants to work both strategically and creatively with outdoor lighting in public spaces.

In this role, you will play an important part in the development of the municipality's lighting environments – from overarching concepts and guidelines to technical design and implementation. The main focus is on a creative and strategic level, where you:

• Design concepts for outdoor lighting that enhance safety, aesthetics, and functionality in the city's spaces.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and further development of lighting programs, strategies, and policies that guide the municipality's long-term lighting planning.
• Collaborate closely with landscape architects, operations managers, property owners, and the public to create comprehensive solutions of high quality. The role also includes work at a technical and design level, where you:
• Evaluate lighting calculations and simulations and make thoughtful material and fixture selections.
• Prepare tender documents, participate in procurements, and work with technical specifications during the project's implementation phase.

For the Trainee Program, we are looking for candidates who are considered to have particularly good prospects for taking on leading or strategic specialist roles in the future. The trainee program provides excellent insight into how municipal operations work, and you will gain a fantastic network for your future career.

As a trainee, you will work on qualified assignments in your home municipality and receive personal development through the program's development days. You will also work and drive a project together with your trainee colleagues. During the employment year, about 25% of your working time will be spent on development days through the program. The trainee program lasts for 12 months, starting on September 1, 2026. Which municipality your employment is located in will be communicated before the final interviews.

Qualifications

You who are applying are a recent graduate, with a maximum of two years old university degree. You have some work experience but a strong commitment to social issues.

We are looking for someone interested in light and lighting, and who has a degree in landscape architecture, lighting design, or another equivalent education that the employer deems comparable.

As the development program in the trainee program is in Swedish, you need to be proficient in the Swedish language in both spoken and written forms.

You are a community developer who likes to question and come up with new ideas. You have the ability to drive development and change work. To succeed in your assignment, you also need to have good collaboration skills, be communicative in your interactions, speech, and writing, and have the ability to work both independently and in a group.

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities. To be accepted into the trainee program, you must have obtained your university degree before the start of the trainee program on September 1, 2026.
