Physiotherapist to the Defence Health Care at the Stockholm Amphibious Regiment

About the Unit

Defence Health Care is the Swedish Armed Forces' internal occupational health service and is present at all garrison locations across the country. We work with health promotion initiatives, work environment, statutory examinations, work-oriented rehabilitation, medical assessments, health care for conscripts and cadets, as well as medical preparedness during exercises. The position includes three wellness hours per week as part of the working hours.

Personnel categories working at Defence Health Care include doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, medical secretaries, and psychologists.

Main Responsibilities

As a Physiotherapist, you will examine, assess, treat, rehabilitate, and prevent injuries in the musculoskeletal system for conscripts, cadets, and employed personnel. Additionally, education and counseling are frequently involved, which is an important part of the preventive work. You should be knowledgeable in sports medicine and have a good ability to examine musculoskeletal disorders. It is also advantageous if you have experience and knowledge in ergonomic issues. The main place of work is Berga, but work may also be assigned to other locations temporarily.

Qualifications

  • Licensed physiotherapist with at least 5 years of professional experience
  • Good experience in clinical work within the musculoskeletal system as a licensed physiotherapist
  • Driver's license class B, as driving is included in the position

Desirable Qualifications

  • Training in OMT
  • Documented experience in assessing and treating sports and load-related injuries.
  • Experience working with sports teams.
  • Experience in preventive work and/or ergonomics
  • Further education in sports medicine.
  • Professional experience as a licensed physiotherapist in occupational health care recently
  • Experience and interest in educating in physiotherapy and preventive care
  • Experience working with Physiotrack
  • Experience in Defence Medicine

Personal Qualities

You will work in an organization with varied and independent tasks and have close cooperation with other staff at Defence Health Care. Flexibility and good teamwork skills are prerequisites for the position. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Other Information

Working hours: Full-time 100%. Location: Berga, but operations may partially be assigned to other locations. Duty at other units and on evenings and weekends may occur as needed. Start date: By agreement. Individual salary setting applies, salary claims should be stated in the application.

The Stockholm Amphibious Regiment (Amf 1) operates where water meets land and serves as the link between naval and army combat forces. The Amphibious Battalion's weapon systems allow us to operate in four dimensions: on and under the water surface, in the air, and on land. Thus, we can exert control over coastal areas. The Marine Base Battalion provides logistics support to the naval units and is both land and sea-based. Amf 1 trains soldiers, sailors, coastal rangers, and officers in various main services. Amf 1 has production responsibility for the war units. The Amphibious Battalion, Marine Base Battalion, and Marine military base Haninge. The unit is based in Haninge (Berga).
