We are expanding our specialized home healthcare (SSIH) and need a new colleague.

About us

SSIH at Nyköping Hospital started in 2009 and provides specialized home healthcare for individuals with complex medical needs or those requiring specialized palliative care at the end of life. Approximately 45 patients are connected to us. In Trosa/Gnesta, there is a local operation with well-established nurses and about 15 patients connected. We now welcome that operation to our service to collectively become less vulnerable.

All doctors will be based in Nyköping. The nurses in Trosa/Gnesta will continue to operate from there.

The palliative inpatient unit with 6 beds is directly adjacent to our SSIH unit. Doctors and nurses work across both units and rotate. When a patient connected to SSIH has an acute need for hospital care, they are welcome directly to our palliative unit.

The palliative unit is part of the clinic for acute geriatrics, stroke, and palliative care (KASP). There is also an acute geriatric unit with inpatient care, a mobile acute geriatric team, and a stroke department with an external stroke team.

Your responsibilities

We are a close-knit team, consisting of nurses, doctors, nursing assistants, and paramedical professionals. We are fully staffed and have specialist competence in palliative care.

Our consulting team collaborates closely with other clinics/primary care and with home care/home nursing. The care we provide is increasingly in demand and can be seen as part of the development towards a wise healthcare system where ethical considerations and the patient's own wishes weigh heavily. The team needs to address the softer values in care but also collectively represent significant medical competence to consider measures and provide the patient with the right conditions to feel as well as possible, even if the disease itself is not curable. Our mission also targets the relatives of the sick – we are there as support.

Your qualifications

We are looking for a licensed physician with specialist certification. You who apply for the position need to be used to working in a team, interested in complex medical challenges of all kinds as well as the individual patient's existential needs. You should have worked as a specialist physician for several years and feel secure in your role as a doctor - but which specialty is less important. You may be a geriatrician, general practitioner, internist, oncologist, surgeon, or anesthesiologist. If you are a specialist in palliative care, that is certainly an advantage.
