Umeå Municipality is hiring Quality Care Assistants!

Umeå Municipality aims to strengthen elderly care and is now looking for several new employees who want to work as Quality Care Assistants!

The majority of the educational and quality-enhancing initiatives in elderly care will take place close to the operations, at the workplace.

The Quality Care Assistant plays a key role in close collaboration with the unit manager and licensed staff to meet needs and contribute to practical daily learning for colleagues.

The role is part of a learning organization where the focus is on preventing risks, enhancing learning, and systematically working with quality issues in accordance with research and proven experience. Quality Care Assistants work for good quality in elderly care.

About the role

As a Quality Care Assistant, you will contribute to better quality for care recipients. Based on the Social Services Act, you will work for a person-centered approach and to communicate and anchor the routines of elderly care while strengthening the professional development of employees.

You will practically follow up on daily care work and work to ensure the quality of the services provided, as part of assisting the unit manager in systematic quality work. You will be part of the workplace's local quality council.

You have shared responsibility for orientation and ensure structure and support while evaluating training needs. You will mentor staff both practically and theoretically in care situations. You have good knowledge of the support teams available, to initiate enhanced efforts in consultation with the manager if necessary.

As a KUSK, you will participate in and promote continuous learning in various meetings and training sessions, conduct workshops and micro-training. You will work in line with the prioritized training initiatives in elderly care as well as the annual cycle.

You are expected to take delegations to support and train your colleagues in all relevant tasks within care and nursing homes.

All Quality Care Assistants are part of and provide training at the Competence Center. Quality Care Assistants receive regular professional development in their role through the competence center.

With your expertise, a pedagogical approach, and a good understanding of how language use affects learning, you will work as a Quality Care Assistant both closely with care recipients and staff.

About you

Requirements: We are looking for you who are a trained care assistant. You have several years of professional experience.

Meritorious: Specialization within the care assistant education, experience in training and mentoring is meritorious. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Employment information

Permanent employment starting by agreement, daytime, Monday – Friday. Occasional weekend work may occur. Evening shifts may occur to address the need for quality-enhancing efforts in the evening and on weekends.
