About the Workplace
Our BMSS in Olofstorp is a newly built and modern facility designed with the needs of the target group in mind, focusing heavily on safety, structure, and comfort for both residents and staff.
The facility is part of a larger housing project that has recently been expanded and consists of two fully equipped apartments with separate entrances, as well as a shared staff area that creates good conditions for collaboration, reflection, and a peaceful work environment. The work is characterized by low-arousal responses and individualized methods where predictability, stability, and continuity are central components. Through a clear holistic perspective, housing, support, activities, and social contexts are integrated into daily life, while environmental changes are minimized to reduce stress and create safety.
The target group consists of individuals with extensive support needs, often with autism and challenging behaviors. The housing combines a private, fully equipped residence with close access to staff support and the opportunity to participate in daily activities directly adjacent to the home, contributing to structure, context, and increased quality of life.
Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for two support pedagogues for our facilities on Knutsväg in Olofstorp. One position is located in the newly built Housing with Special Services (BMSS), where you will have the opportunity to be involved from the start and actively contribute to shaping methods and structure in a completely new operation. The other position is located in our existing unit, where you will become part of an established team with well-functioning routines and extensive experience with the target group. Together with an already employed support pedagogue, you will form a team of three support pedagogues who work closely together with equivalent assignments and a common approach. Through collaboration and a shared structure, you will ensure quality, continuity, and a uniform pedagogical approach in both operations.
As a support pedagogue, you play a central role in the operation and work closely with the residents on both supportive and pedagogical tasks. You actively contribute to developing, quality-assuring, and following up on methods, including working with implementation plans, planning and conducting activities, and documenting according to applicable legislation. The assignment also includes mentoring and supporting colleagues in pedagogical methods, as well as collaborating with relatives, habilitation, and other internal and external actors. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other educators and method developers and, together with the unit manager, be involved in shaping and further developing the pedagogical work of the operation.
Qualifications
For the position of support pedagogue, a post-secondary specialization in the field of disabilities is required, comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 higher education credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, at least 60 higher education credits combined with at least two years of experience working with support and services for individuals with disabilities is required. The education should include relevant credits in areas such as behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and psychiatric care, or other training deemed equivalent by the employer. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test via the test provider Educateit.
The position requires experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and good knowledge of low-arousal responses, alternative and augmentative communication, applicable regulations regarding coercive and restrictive measures, social documentation, as well as autism and challenging behaviors. You have experience with a structured approach where clarity, continuity, and evidence-based methods are a natural part of everyday life, and you are accustomed to working with digital documentation, for example in Treserva.
As a person, you have a respectful and professional demeanor and always start from the equal value of all individuals. The role requires you to balance different demands and make well-founded decisions. You are positive with a genuine commitment to individuals with disabilities and the development of the operation. It is advantageous if you have experience leading meetings, coaching workgroups, and actively contributing to the development of common working methods.
