About the role

We are looking for a meticulous and solution-oriented DBA to join Unibase!

As a DBA, you will be responsible for:

• Managing the operation, maintenance, and optimization of customer databases
• Ensuring high availability, performance, and security in database environments
• Working with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
• Participating in projects related to data migration, data integration, and data platforms
• Collaborating with developers, architects, and business representatives to support data-driven solutions

You will be an important part of our team and our customers' teams, contributing to delivering robust and effective data solutions.

Your tasks may include the following (depending on the assignment):

Operation and management:

• Managing and monitoring databases (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
• Performing patching, upgrades, and performance optimization
• Automating tasks with scripts (PowerShell, T-SQL, Python)
• Ensuring database security and access controls

Backup and recovery:

• Implementing and monitoring backup strategies
• Conducting recovery tests and ensuring readiness for disaster recovery

Data integration and migration:

• Working with ETL processes and data integration (SSIS, Azure Data Factory)
• Migrating databases between different platforms and environments

Performance and analysis:

• Conducting capacity planning and performance analysis
• Identifying and addressing bottlenecks in database performance

Preferred experience

It is a plus if you have experience with:

• Cloud-based database services (Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, Google Cloud SQL)
• High availability and replication (Always On, Log Shipping, Clustering)
• Data platforms and BI solutions (Power BI, SSAS)
• Certifications in database management or cloud services (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate)
• ITIL v4 or similar frameworks for IT governance

Your background

We are looking for someone who has:

• Several years of experience in database management in production environments
• Good understanding of database design, security, and performance optimization
• Post-secondary education in IT, computer engineering, or equivalent experience
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
