Kungälv Municipality is looking for a Substitute Dance Teacher
Kungälv Municipality is seeking individuals who want to make a difference! We need professional and motivated staff to deliver welfare services of high quality. Here, engagement and professional service go hand in hand while you help influence people's everyday lives and society at large. A good workplace culture and support for your personal development are important to us. Your contribution matters!
Description
Kungälv Cultural School is looking for an engaged, versatile, and knowledgeable substitute dance teacher who is passionate about teaching children and young people of various ages.
With us, you will be part of a creative and supportive staff group where we together create a safe, inspiring, and developing environment for our students.
The Cultural School meets over 1300 children and young people each week with courses in dance, music, crafts, visual arts, film, theater, and adapted cultural education. We collaborate across subject boundaries and with other actors such as primary schools, high schools, libraries, leisure activities, and cultural life. We work for a strong whole and that each student receives the best possible encounter with their cultural expression. We are centrally located in Kungälv in fresh premises at Mimers Kulturhus together with a library, high school, theater, café, and art hall. Mimers Kulturhus also has an open cultural activity for youth, KultLab. Some teaching also takes place at the municipality's primary schools.
Responsibilities
As a substitute dance teacher at the Cultural School in Kungälv, you will teach in groups, in various dance styles (children's dance, jazz/show, hip hop/street, ballet, and jazz ballet) with students aged 4 to 20 years. It is important that you feel comfortable and inspired to teach in groups and with different ages. You will meet everything from younger children where you stimulate their curiosity and creativity, to students who have progressed further in their dance development. You are confident and enthusiastic and create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students have the opportunity to grow, and where you as a dance teacher have the opportunity to both contribute to and develop the activities. You will be part of the dance subject team as well as various working groups with fantastic colleagues. You will participate in the scenic, outward-facing activities but you also need to be able to work independently. Teaching takes place during students' leisure time at Mimers Kulturhus, during school holidays, but also to some extent in the municipality's gymnasiums.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with competence in dance. You have good collaboration skills, a genuine interest in the subject and working with children and young people. You are skilled both as a dancer and educator with a strong interest in group teaching. You have an approach that believes in students' participation, a broad knowledge of styles, and a drive as a teacher. You need to be used to working independently and taking your own initiatives. You are interested in developing and conducting the dance subject and performance activities together with colleagues. Experience in teaching various dance styles for children and young people is required.
You have a pedagogical university education or other training and experience that the employer deems equivalent.
If you have a teaching license, it is an advantage. A B driver's license is also an advantage but not a requirement.
The position is a substitute for 50%-60% during the spring of 2026 with the possibility of extension during the 26/27 school year.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
We warmly welcome your application!
