JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to be part of a workplace with varied tasks and a dynamic work environment? Then you will fit in as an employee at Vasaskolan Middle School. We are a middle school with about 550 students and 70 employees, with various positions and assignments. We work in teams that are close to the students every day. The school also has a student health team consisting of special educators, school nurses, school counselors, and career counselors. We are now looking for another special educator!

Your task is to work with special educational interventions at our middle school as one of two special educators. You are part of the student health team at the school and collaborate with the school counselor, school nurse, career counselor, and principal, as well as the school's various teams. Here, special educators work closely with students and are also responsible for their own interventions at the individual/group level. You will contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment throughout the school. It is important that you have a good ability to build trusting relationships with students, teachers, and guardians.

The health-promoting and preventive work is a focus where the school is seen as a health factor for the student. Your tasks include supporting teachers' promoting and preventive work. Leadership and stimulation are important guiding principles, as well as working with adaptations and extra adaptations. You are also responsible for conducting assessments and investigations of various kinds. For this purpose, we have various diagnostic and digital tools.

You work systematically with documentation of interventions, meetings, etc., and provide feedback as needed to students, guardians, teaching staff, mentors, and other EHT members.

It is important for us that you are a present, attentive, clear, and organized person who acts selflessly. Of course, you have a good knowledge of the school's governing documents.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification as a special educator. Certified teacher in Swedish and/or English for grades 7-9 is an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

To start working in preschool, school, after-school care, and other educational activities, you must show an extract from the criminal record. The extract is valid for one year and can be ordered from the National Police Board www.polisen.se.
