About Järva VIP, adapted primary school, adapted high school

At Järva VIP, we are proud to offer small teaching groups and a very high staff density. We work in small teams, and the atmosphere is characterized by much laughter, solid collaboration, and a strong community with open communication.

We accept students who study subject areas in adapted primary school (formerly known as training school) and adapted high school (individual program). The students at Järva VIP have diagnoses of intellectual disabilities (moderate/severe) combined with autism (level 3 or 2), which means that the students have extensive support needs in all aspects of the day. Most of the students also have a language disorder and often exhibit challenging behaviors. This can include outwardly aggressive behaviors, hyperactivity, and self-harming behaviors.

At Järva VIP, we see each student's strengths and abilities. Teaching and other activities during the school day are fully individualized based on the student's conditions, strengths, needs, and daily form. Our fundamental belief is that our students, with the right support, can achieve anything. Our goal is always for the student to achieve as much independence as possible based on their own abilities. We do this by clarifying everyday life and working together with the student to find strategies to utilize their knowledge. Our students succeed!

Järva VIP is a small school in Sollentuna, with fantastic nature around the corner. The school has large, fresh facilities, fully adapted to the needs of the target group.

Your role In your role as a student assistant, you will follow and support the students throughout the school day and any after-school activities. You help create a sense of security for our students who require extraordinary support. Together with teachers and educators, you will plan and structure the school day based on individualized pedagogy, creating predictability and clarity. An important part of the work is to stimulate and motivate students to develop their abilities and create opportunities for learning. We collaborate in work teams to create successful and educational days for our students.

We are looking for someone who:

• is flexible and solution-focused

• has a positive outlook and a strong commitment to people

• is responsible and has personal maturity

• enjoys working in a team and supporting your colleagues

We are looking for someone with experience working with children and young people with intellectual disabilities and autism. Familiarity with always working with a low-arousal approach is essential. The work requires good mental presence and a strong sense of responsibility. It is advantageous if you have experience and knowledge of clear pedagogy (e.g., visual support and sign communication). We prefer that you have relevant education (social worker, behavioral scientist, student assistant/child caregiver, etc.).

It is important that you feel secure in yourself and in your role as we work with children/youth with severe challenging behaviors such as physical aggression.

Good knowledge of Swedish is a requirement, as we have students who are in great need of clear communication. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. For us, competence is as much about potential, values, and motivation as it is about education, experience, and factual knowledge. If you have the right qualities, we will provide you with support and opportunities to grow.

We now need to fill a temporary position, the job is 95-100% for 6-12 months with a possibility of a permanent position.
