Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to study the spread and interactions of molten core with structures during severe accidents in light water reactors.

The project is supported by APRI (https://www.apri.se (https://www.apri.se)) and the SSM project. Experimental and computational studies of phenomena associated with molten core spread and melt-structure interactions will be conducted towards the development and validation of models that can be used for safety analyses and management of severe accidents in light water reactors.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Completed PhD or foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made.
• PhD in nuclear engineering, nuclear safety, mechanical engineering, or similar, with extensive experience in thermal hydraulics for reactors, severe accident research, and safety analyses.

Desirable

• At the time of application, no more than three years since the PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD was obtained.
• Practical experience in laboratory work related to thermal hydraulics and severe accidents.
• Knowledge and experience of computational codes for thermal hydraulics and severe accidents.
• Good communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
• Drive and commitment to research work is a significant merit.
• Experience in teaching is desirable.
• Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
