About the position

You will be part of a team designing our Scania-unique PLC standard with a fully object-oriented structure and dynamic sequences. At Scania, we have been known for our flexible truck cab program for decades, and you will be involved in developing this flexibility through our unique programming approach. You will also work with exciting areas such as communication infrastructure, “Backup & Restore,” scripting, database management, and advanced systems like WinCC and MES – giving you the opportunity to broaden your skills and be part of the action. You will also act as a client competence towards internal and external suppliers and participate as a specialist in various interesting projects, sometimes leading other programmers.

The organization

Together with two other competent and engaged colleagues, you will form the Automation Group within process technology. There are additional specialist groups focusing on robotics and assembly. Furthermore, there are local line technicians within production technology who work closest to the line organization, for whom you will sometimes take on a supportive role. All these colleagues together form a process technology team for Scania Oskarshamn's body and press shop.

We are looking for

We believe that you are a meticulous person with an analytical mindset who enjoys problem-solving. When you work, you are structured and possess pedagogical skills, which are important for sharing knowledge. You have a wonderful energy and are eager to share your enthusiasm with others to succeed together in the work and technology. Likely, you have an engineering degree in automation or equivalent competence. You have several years of experience in PLC programming, preferably with Siemens TIA Portal.

Your development

To succeed well in this role and understand the product and production flow, you will be given the opportunity to undergo extensive training in automation. Additionally, there will be in-depth training in the systems we have. Together, we will develop your skills primarily in TIA Portal, all to achieve “train the trainer” status in automation. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate partially with our sister facilities in Brazil and China, which will be a challenging and, above all, a developing part of your role as an Automation Specialist.
