Family Therapist at SiS Youth Home Råby
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
SiS Youth Home Råby accommodates both girls and boys. We have both secure and open placements for secure youth care as well as treatment places for youth placed under the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU).
Job Description
SiS Youth Home Råby in Lund is seeking a family therapist who wants to help create the vital difference for vulnerable individuals. Our target group is boys and girls aged 16 - 21 placed under the law on secure youth care.
Our vision is to be a place for change, which permeates our approach, our commitment, and our attitude.
In the role of family therapist, you will have a central responsibility for the treatment of our placed youth. The family therapist is responsible for working with the youth's families and networks with the aim of creating participation and collaboration that contributes to positive treatment outcomes.
The tasks are varied and include family therapeutic interventions, psychoeducational efforts, parent training, as well as participation in network meetings and follow-ups. The role also involves close contact with both youth and treatment staff on the unit. Work around each individual youth is conducted in team collaboration with psychologists, treatment secretaries, unit staff, nurses, and teachers.
The family therapist is given the opportunity to largely design and plan the workday through digital communication, visits, and home stays based on the needs of the youth. Supervision and opportunities for further education and participation in cross-agency issues will be part of the job.
The assignment is currently focused on boys placed under the law on secure youth care, but the target group may change over time depending on the authority's assignment to the institution.
Working hours are scheduled during the day. Shift work may occur, up until 19:00, if needed once a week. Travel in the job may occur.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to being able to influence and change. Therefore, we are looking for someone who has the ability to build alliances with youth, families, and networks. You have a positive view of people, and your drive is to work with individuals in vulnerable situations. You share SiS's values of being a place for change, and your approach and attitude are permeated by our guiding principles of Respect, Care, and Clarity.
For the role, personal maturity is required to instill both hope and trust, while also being able to highlight the difficulties in the youth's family and network to contribute to change. You have pedagogical skills and can act as a positive role model in parent training programs. You work well with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
