Our Operations

The Culture and Leisure Office in Värmdö Municipality operates in the areas of youth, culture, sports, and leisure and consists of the units Culture and Library, Young in Värmdö, Värmdö Culture School, and Sports and Leisure.

We are now looking for an art and culture administrator for the Culture and Library unit at 50% with a primary focus on art. The position is a temporary contract until the end of the year with the possibility of extension. Värmdö Culture and Library operations are largely located in Värmdö Culture House and include the operation of three public libraries, general cultural activities, responsibility for the municipality's art collection and image archive, operation of Gustavsberg Theatre, as well as processing cultural grants and scholarships. The unit consists of 22 people.

Your Mission

Your mission as an art and culture administrator will primarily involve inventorying and mapping the municipality's art collection, making the art collection accessible within the municipality, some program production, initiating art projects for children and youth, and assisting in exhibition production.

Your workplace is in Värmdö Culture House in Gustavsberg Harbor, and you will work closely with the unit's project leader for art and culture.

Your Experience

The position requires an academic education in art history or related cultural subjects, with good knowledge of Swedish contemporary art. The position also requires previous experience in art and cultural work within the cultural sector, preferably in public service. It is an advantage if you have experience of your own practical and/or artistic work.
