Upplands-Bro library consists of two libraries: Kungsängen library, which shares space with the Art Hall and the Large Stage in the Cultural Center, and Bro library, which shares space with the Swimming Hall, Safety Center, Customer Center, and Culture School in Brohuset.
Job Description
You will be part of the children and youth department, which consists of four people. You will be responsible for the library's project “Bokstart,” aimed at the youngest children and their parents. The project is conducted in collaboration with BVC, open preschool, and kindergarten. The position includes various tasks at the public library such as selection and purchase of media, information services, and program responsibility. You have great opportunities to influence and shape your role.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a degree in library and information science or another education that the employer considers equivalent.
- Is experienced and enjoys working on projects.
- Has knowledge of languages other than Swedish: Upplands-Bro library is a Finnish administrative area, and knowledge of the Finnish language is particularly meritorious.
- It is an advantage if you have previous experience working to promote reading and language development with children.
As a person, you are self-driven, curious, and attentive. You have good pedagogical skills and can speak in front of people, both children and adults, during book talks and program activities. You are aware of the world around you and interested in children's and young people's cultural expressions, have good knowledge of children's literature, and a particular interest in the latest trends in literature, social media, and digital platforms.

About the position
The position is 75%, with 25% consisting of project work. The position is a project employment with possibilities for extension. Start date: 2026-03-15 or by agreement.
