Are you a musical entertainer with a talent for physical comedy?

Do you play an instrument, preferably a wind instrument, and enjoy public interactions?

And… can you sometimes do all this as a rooster? 🐓🎺

Then you might be just right for Skansen's new initiative: THE ROOSTER MUSICIANS!

Starting Valborg 2026, Skansen's feathered trio will embark on their honorable mission: to wander through Skansen's park and create musical surprises, humor, and hospitality in their encounters with guests as roosters. The ensemble performs in motion, outdoors, and works with both musical precision and playful character.

Performance Period:

Weekends during the pre-season, then daily during the summer break, with concluding weekends into September. Work shifts also occur on holidays and sometimes evenings, adjusted according to Skansen's opening hours.

Seasonal work in Stockholm

We are looking for you who:

• is good at physical comedy and theater
• 
  
• plays wind instruments or other portable instruments (at a level where you feel comfortable live)
• 
  
• has strong audience interaction skills and a sense of hospitality
• 
  
• enjoys humor and playfulness
• 
  
• is comfortable performing outdoors and in a moving production
• 
  
• is a team player with good energy and timing
• 
  
• can switch between musical sharpness and “rooster-like” character when needed
• 
  
• can sing, lead, and accompany a sing-along for children

Application:

Applications are made via self-tape by February 15 – selected candidates will be invited to audition.

We ask that you send two videos:

1. A presentation of yourself and your comedic talent. Feel free to imitate a rooster, perform a comedic (physical) monologue, or something else. Keep in mind that the Rooster Musicians act as roosters, so the physicality is important.
2. 
   
3. Play a well-known pop song on the instruments you master, as well as sing a song of your choice.
