We are now looking for a school librarian and coordinator who wants to join us on our journey towards increased results and goal fulfillment in our operations. We currently have nine primary schools distributed across eight principal areas, one adapted primary and secondary school, five preschool areas, and one gymnasium.

Job Description

This is a position where you combine your role as a school librarian with overarching functions within the Education Office. You will act as a link between the school libraries in the municipality's nine primary schools, the gymnasium, and the library rooms in the municipality's preschools. Through regular contact with the school library managers at all schools, you will be the spider in the web of the work. You lead networks, coordinate and register purchases for the school libraries, and assist in reading promotion work through your expertise and resource support. The position also includes managing and developing the school libraries. About 50% of the position involves operational work as a school librarian and staffing in school libraries.

Within the framework of the position, there is also a special responsibility for Läsa äger. Here, you organize training sessions for the summer youth who work with the reading project at the leisure centers.

The work involves a high degree of collaboration between the Education Office, the public library through the culture and leisure office, and the schools. Part of the position involves applying for and distributing financial resources in the form of sought and granted grants. In addition, administrative tasks within the Education Office may occur.

We are looking for someone who:

• has an education in pedagogy or library and information science, or equivalent education.
• has a good ability for analytical thinking, is good at collaboration, and has good knowledge of children's and youth literature from various genres as well as analog and digital media. You have the ability to take initiative and work independently.

It is an advantage if you have experience in applying for and distributing grants and have worked in schools.

About the position

The position is a fixed-term employment during the period of February to September with the possibility of extension. Start date by agreement.
