HR Officer at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service in Västervik
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand centers, and client transport.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As an HR officer in the Västervik operational area, you will work both independently and in teams to achieve the organization's goals, maintain a good working environment, and enable present leadership.
Your main tasks will consist of local coordination, processing, and follow-up within the personnel area. You will work at the local level with, among other things, handling employment contracts, workplace safety issues, and the payroll process. Furthermore, together with the local introduction coordinator, you will be responsible for operational work with local orientation and reception of newly hired staff for the operational area, including payroll management, personnel issues, incident management, and background checks.
You will collaborate with the organization's HR administrator, first-line managers, and the organization for the guidance of newly hired staff. Additionally, you will work with personnel within coordinated staffing, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's service center in Norrköping, the recruitment organization, and the training organization. You will also have a supportive and advisory role in personnel administrative matters for managers.
Together with the local management group, you will also work on HR matters that you will process, investigate, and, at the request of the local management group, support in administrative HR issues, such as preparing materials and other documents for management group meetings and safety committees.
QUALIFICATIONS
You need to have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks effectively in a self-directed and structured manner. You enjoy working with many parallel processes and complex issues by analyzing problems and adapting your actions based on priorities. Furthermore, you are service-oriented and attentive, and you collaborate well with others through good communication skills, both internally and externally. The position requires you to work solution-oriented and development-focused, working towards goals, considering a holistic perspective, and recognizing the short- and long-term significance of matters. Therefore, it is important that you can easily adapt to changing circumstances and shifting objectives.

Requirements:
- Academic degree in HR or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
- Experience in HR processing
- Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
- Good proficiency in using the Office suite
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience working within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service or another law enforcement authority
- Relevant experience from other public sectors
- Experience in payroll processes and salary formation within the state
- Experience in coordinating and planning workplace safety work
- Experience in negotiation work according to the MBL
- Very good knowledge of Excel
