Would you like to be part of our continued development journey? We are now looking for an Accounting Manager for the Finance Department who wants to help ensure quality and develop the unit together with us.

The Finance Department consists of eight employees, including the Chief Financial Officer. We offer you a developing and varied job in an organization that always strives to do the best possible job for the municipality's employees and citizens.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Finance Department provides support and advice to the municipality's committees, administrations, companies, managers, and residents. The department is responsible for short- and long-term financial planning and resource management, invoicing and debt collection, accounting and follow-up, year-end closing, and other financial administrative tasks.

As the Accounting Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that the municipality's accounting is accurate and complies with laws, guidelines, and instructions. Your tasks include compiling interim and annual financial statements and participating in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements.

You are the municipality's expert in accounting matters and therefore a natural discussion partner and support in these matters within the municipality and the corporate group. You also have overall system responsibility for the financial system and its subsystems.

The position also includes preparing the financial summary, developing the municipality's development accounting, asset register, and declarations, as well as other recurring tasks within the unit. In this role, you will conduct training and provide information on financial and accounting issues. You are expected to take your own initiatives for improvement proposals, drive development issues within the accounting area, and participate in various projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is driven and eager to take the initiative to develop routines. In this role, you will be a key person in the work with the group-wide accounting. You are confident in your professional role and have very good knowledge in the field of accounting. We prefer that your knowledge of finance and accounting is broad and that you have the ability to take a holistic perspective. You understand complex contexts and have good analytical skills to assess and evaluate financial information.

To fit in this role, you need to enjoy working with both numbers and people. It is important that you are a team player as you will collaborate with colleagues in various areas of expertise within the organization.

As the Accounting Manager, it is important that you can structure and organize your work effectively. Your ability to prioritize and focus will be valuable in managing the peaks of work that may arise, for example, during the year-end closing process.

We are looking for someone with a university degree in finance, preferably with a focus on accounting, or other experience/education that the employer deems equivalent. In this position, you need to have solid experience working with accounting, preferably at the group level. Experience in system administration and good skills in Excel are required. If you have previously worked in a politically governed organization, it will facilitate your understanding of your new tasks.
