The Role of Project Manager

We are looking for someone who wants to drive exciting projects within the IT Center's areas of responsibility! Our greatest need lies within technology-oriented projects, but assignments can span the entire organization – giving you a dynamic and varied role. The role includes leading projects from start to finish and ensuring that initiatives are delivered on time and within budget, while also creating long-term benefits and effects after completion. As a project manager with us, you will handle several parallel projects where the balancing act between different initiatives requires structure and prioritization; you will play a key role in ensuring progress on multiple fronts simultaneously.

You create, maintain, and follow up on both detailed and overarching project plans. You define milestones, ensure deliveries, and report to relevant forums and stakeholders. As a project manager with us, you become a link between all involved parties and create understanding of the project's goals and progress, whether it concerns technical specialists, business leaders, or external actors. The role also includes identifying and proactively analyzing potential obstacles and risks in the projects, as well as working to minimize or eliminate them before they affect implementation.

IT Center has a consolidated responsibility for IT operations in Region Jönköping County. In close collaboration with our customers, we contribute to the development and support of the region's operations with good IT solutions. We work process-oriented and quality-conscious in accordance with our ISO-certified management system. We currently have over 250 engaged and forward-leaning employees with high competence and drive in their respective areas of responsibility. Together, we work to become Sweden's best IT department! You will be part of the RTS unit – Regional Development, Traffic, and Support, which manages and drives projects related to systems for, among other things, the County Traffic, Business & Service Regional Development (including Smålands Musik & Teater and four schools).

Your Profile

To be considered for the position, you are a certified project manager according to PMI, PMP, or equivalent, which ensures that you have solid methodological knowledge and can drive projects in a structured and effective manner. Furthermore, we also see that you have substantial experience in IT projects, such as leading IT-related projects in complex IT environments. You have previous experience navigating challenges related to system integration, digital transformation, and technical development.

To thrive with us in the role of project manager, you have strong communication skills, adapting your message to the target audience. You build trust, drive collaboration, and make decisions when necessary. You prioritize smartly in a fast-paced environment, maintain direction even when conditions change, and break down goals into actionable steps.
