The Department of Work and Learning is responsible for, among other things, individual and family care, labor market and employment, as well as adult education and high school. Our core mission is to offer education and support based on individual needs and conditions. Through early, promoting, and preventive measures, we conduct targeted work in collaboration with other community actors.
The Department of Individual and Family Care consists of four units; IFO team 1, IFO team 2, Housing Support Team, and the Support and Treatment Unit. The department is responsible for processing and implementation within the areas of child (SoL and LVU) and adult substance abuse (SoL and LVM), social psychiatry (SoL), and domestic violence (SoL).
The Support and Treatment Unit offers support and treatment at home and targets children/youth (0-20 years) and their families. As a family therapist, you will work with children and families. The unit's work is under development and aligns with the new social services law. Great emphasis is placed on your contribution to developing preventive, equal, and equitable support that is knowledge-based and easily accessible, in line with the intentions of the social services law.
The Support and Treatment Unit's premises are centrally located in Alvesta.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are now looking for a family therapist as one of our family therapists is moving on to another position within the unit. Family therapists work divided into different teams. Your primary target group will be families in need of support to promote secure attachment and strengthen parenting skills.
We work based on knowledge-based methods, and it is advantageous if you are trained in ABC, the Safety Circle, or another relevant equivalent method. You will be offered continuous supervision. In your work, you are expected to collaborate with other professionals.

Job Responsibilities:
- Family conversations, parent conversations based on a systems theory foundation to improve relationships and communication within the family.
- Lead parent groups to strengthen parents' ability to promote positive behavior in children and create a safe and functioning everyday life.
- Support parents in understanding and meeting their children's emotional needs, strengthen attachment, and contribute to laying the foundation for secure development.
- Assist with routines and rules at home for individual families.
- Some evening work is included in the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with an academic degree in social pedagogy, a social worker degree, or other suitable higher education in the field. It is advantageous if you have completed training in ABC and the Safety Circle.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. We expect you to be a secure person with good personal maturity and to contribute to a good work environment. You are expected to have the ability to collaborate with colleagues and other internal and external actors. Furthermore, you have a good ability to work independently and are flexible and stress-resistant in your work. We are looking for someone who can contribute to equal treatment and help create an inclusive environment in their workplace.
