Job Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who wants to work at the daily activity center, Nya LAS Artes, in Hisingen.

With us, safety, participation, and joy are at the center, and each day is shaped according to the participants' individual needs, interests, and conditions. The activity is aimed at individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID), who are at an early developmental stage.

Nya Las Artes offers structured and individually tailored activities aimed at creating a meaningful, safe, and developing everyday life for the participants. The center provides a varied daily routine with both indoor and outdoor activities. Participants have the opportunity for walks, cycling on tandem bikes, and outdoor time in the garden. Job tasks may also include recycling and simpler sorting work, as well as baking and handling the unit's laundry.

In addition, sensory stimulating activities and computer work are included. Physical activity is offered in the center's activity hall, for example through the use of a trampoline and swing. Each participant has individual schedules and activities tailored to their needs, abilities, and daily condition.

As a support assistant, you provide support in the participants' daily activities as well as in care situations. The work may involve lifting and there may also be challenging behaviors. You are expected to work in a structured, low-arousal manner and in close collaboration with other support assistants, support pedagogues, and the unit manager. Together, we focus on each participant's resources, interests, and needs to create conditions for participation in meaningful activities.

The operation works with low-arousal approaches (LAB) and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) to create a safe environment and good conditions for communication and participation.

You are the contact person for one or more participants and are responsible for establishing, following up, and documenting implementation plans with goals for the participant's employment. The assignment also includes developing and updating work plans, routines, and manuals, as well as keeping daily notes in Treserva.

The work shifts are scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care Program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 higher education credits, or a combination thereof that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies.

Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for individuals with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing is a requirement. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements of passing Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

You have at least two years of experience working with challenging behavior and individuals on the autism spectrum.

We consider it an advantage if you have experience with low-arousal approaches and alternative and augmentative communication.

We are looking for a stable and secure person who builds trust in interactions with participants, relatives, and colleagues. You take responsibility for your assignment, work in a structured manner, and follow decisions made. With a change-oriented approach, you contribute to the development of the operation and adapt your working methods based on new conditions. You have a pedagogical approach and the ability to support, motivate, and guide participants based on their individual needs and conditions.
