Education Coordinator at the Department of Biological Basic Education

The Department of Biological Basic Education (BIG) has around 10 employees.

The department is responsible for and administers all education at the undergraduate and advanced levels in biology at Stockholm University. This includes ensuring that the programs maintain high quality and meet the needs of students and society. BIG's mission also includes providing conditions for teachers at other biology departments to conduct the best possible teaching, as well as supporting teachers and students throughout the educational process.

Job Responsibilities

As an education coordinator, you will play an important role at the department, acting as a link between the department's administrative and strategic work. This role combines independent work with close collaboration. Your responsibilities may include quality assurance and coordination of the department's programs, alumni activities, admissions and eligibility assessments, as well as other teaching administration.

Qualifications

Requirements

• A degree in biology or another academic degree that the employer deems relevant for the position.
• At least three years of experience working at a university or college.
• Experience in educational administration in systems such as Ladok and NyA.

Desirable

• Knowledge of the Swedish education system and the regulations surrounding it.
• Doctoral education.

Personal Attributes

Since the work involves regular contact and interaction with colleagues, teachers, and students, it is important that you are service-oriented and communicative. You have a very good ability to communicate professionally in both spoken and written English and Swedish. It is important that you can independently organize and plan your work. Flexibility and teamwork skills are particularly important since BIG is a small organization where you may sometimes need to step in and help each other at short notice. You should have good prioritization skills and the ability to work in a structured and solution-oriented manner. Personal suitability will be given considerable weight.

About the Employment

The position is permanent full-time with a six-month probationary period. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.
