About the Position

The position involves, together with your subject colleagues, planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in Swedish and Swedish/English within the framework of language choice. You will also be a mentor for a number of students, together with a colleague, where development discussions and continuous contact with home are included. The school operates in twelve periods, where each period is roughly planned based on the curriculum's grading criteria and central content. We work to create a safe school environment, which means you will have scheduled time in the corridor a couple of times a week and have pedagogical lunch on certain days.

You will belong to the organization for grades 7-9, which is divided into five teams, all led by a team leader who is part of the school's management group. All staff in grades 7-9 have been trained in ICDP and participate in development work together with universities and the Swedish National Agency for Education, through the project Collaboration for the Best School. The majority of students report in the school's safety survey that they enjoy school, and we adults assume that students want to succeed.

Mellringeskolan is a school with a belief in the future, where we, in the recent merger of primary and middle school with high school, create collaborative forms that will secure the student's entire schooling from preschool to grade 9. Here, you will make a difference.

About the Workplace

Mellringeskolan is a K-9 school located in western Örebro with approximately 700 students. The students primarily come from the western districts of Örebro and the nearby countryside. Mellringeskolan 7-9 has over 350 students and 50 staff members. The staff is divided into teams organized around common classes. The teams are the hub for both work with goal fulfillment and student health. In addition to school management and administration, there is a student health group to support the teacher teams. The school also has student coordinators, counselors, and student assistants.

To create really good conditions for students' learning and an equitable school experience, the three school years are divided into 12 study periods. Each period has common goals within each subject that the students work towards and the educators follow up on.

The school has been operated since 2015 as an intrapreneurial school within Örebro municipality. This means that the operation has greater authority and responsibility than other municipal operations.

Qualifications

As a teacher, it is important that you have good collaboration skills where you listen and communicate and contribute to a calm and safe school environment. Furthermore, your high collaboration skills contribute to the continued work and development of the team. You have knowledge of children's development and learning as well as the ability to adapt teaching based on the group and individual students' needs and conditions. You are adaptable and receptive to changes in the operation and actively work for the safety of all students.

Furthermore, you master the Swedish language in such a way that you can communicate with students and other staff, as well as document what the operation requires in writing. You have good computer skills as the work involves a lot of documentation. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

• teacher certification with authorization to teach Swedish for grades 7-9, or alternatively a qualifying degree that entitles you to teacher certification

Meritorious:

• experience with digital documentation (for example, It's Learning)
