Are you a knowledgeable lawyer with a strong interest in socio-economic issues who wants to work at the center of events and contribute to efforts to safeguard financial stability and ensure good preparedness to handle financial crises? Then this is the job for you.
WE OFFER YOU
As a lawyer in the Financial Stability Department, you will handle a wide range of legal issues within our work to safeguard financial stability and manage financial crises. You will belong to the Financial Linkages Unit, but your tasks will encompass issues that concern the entire department. You will collaborate with economists in the department and with other lawyers at the Riksbank, as well as support the department management in legal considerations within the framework of the department's work.
THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH US
You will work on policy issues related to financial stability by conducting legal analyses and providing legal advice. Your work will include preparing decision-making materials to be presented to department heads and the Riksbank's Executive Board. You will also contribute to the department's crisis preparedness, international work, and analysis of the financial system. This may include analyses related to the Riksbank's liquidity support role, legislation concerning the financial market, managing ongoing legal work including transparency and confidentiality, contract negotiations, and interacting with other authorities on legal matters. You will also work on international issues, either as a member of an international group or by participating in preparations for other employees' international meetings.
YOUR TEAM
The Riksbank consists of nine departments. The unit belongs to the Financial Stability Department, and you will be part of the Financial Linkages Unit, which consists of around 10 employees with expertise in areas such as analysis of non-banks, crisis preparedness, and international issues. You will collaborate with the department's and the bank's other lawyers, including those in the Legal Secretariat. Here you can read more about the Riksbank's organization.
MORE ABOUT YOU
You have a Swedish law degree (formerly a Bachelor of Laws) and at least five years of experience in qualified legal work. Furthermore, you have experience in qualified legal work at a government authority. It is advantageous if you have experience in qualified legal work related to legislation concerning the financial market, financial companies in crisis, crisis preparedness, heightened readiness, or EU law in any relevant area such as state aid. It is also advantageous if you have experience in project management.
As a person, you have good analytical skills, a holistic view, and the judgment to weigh complex information and various considerations. You are self-driven but also have good collaborative skills and are thus receptive to different viewpoints and perspectives, as well as being meticulous and having high integrity. You are also skilled at presenting and explaining legal aspects in a pedagogical manner. We see a strong interest in financial stability issues, the financial system, and its impact on socio-economic development as a given!

Start date: By agreement, but preferably as soon as possible.
Employment type: Permanent employment, probationary employment may apply.
Location: Head office Stockholm
Working hours: Trust-based working hours
Possibility to work remotely: 1 or 2 days a week

The position may be classified in a security class, and a security review including background checks, security interviews, and special personal investigations will be conducted for the final candidate. For certain positions, Swedish citizenship is required.
