Within the Health and Care Administration, we have full-time as the norm. This means that all permanent employees essentially have a full-time position. More information about what this means for this position will be provided during a possible interview. Exceptions (from full-time as the norm) are personal assistants.

Summer Jobs in Uppsala Municipality
Work this summer in Uppsala municipality and help individuals with various disabilities live as active and independent lives as possible. You will meet the individual needs of the persons and ensure they have a safe daily life. There are several different operations throughout Uppsala, both centrally and in rural areas.
Your Tasks
Your tasks involve a daily routine filled with varied tasks based on what the specific user needs and where you work. In all our operations, you will have a meaningful job where you make a real difference. You can read more about our operations below:
- Housing, service housing, or short-term housing for adults: In group housing, service housing, and short-term operations, housing assistants support adults with disabilities. Here, you will contribute to improved quality of life and increased independence.
- Housing or short-term operations for children: In housing and short-term operations for children, housing assistants support children and young people with disabilities. Here, you will have the opportunity to create safety and joy for children.
- Care and Housing Homes (HVB) and training homes within social psychiatry: Care and Housing Homes (HVB) and training homes are for individuals with psychiatric disabilities, which may include psychosis or NPF such as autism. Support is tailored individually between the person, the assistance officer, and the housing assistants. You will be part of someone's journey towards independence and contribute to their development.
- Housing support within social psychiatry: Housing support is aimed at individuals with mental health issues and disabilities who need support in their own homes. Support is tailored individually between the person, the assistance officer, and the housing supporters. You will travel between individuals' homes using a bicycle, bus, or car. Here, you will work with flexibility and take responsibility.
- Meeting points and activities within social psychiatry: Meeting point and activity services are aimed at individuals with mental health issues. The service is open every day, all year round. Here, you will contribute to increasing community and well-being.
- Personal assistance: Personal assistants work with users of all ages who have varying support needs. This can be support around the clock or only during certain hours of the day. Some individuals need a personal assistant while others require support from several. Here, you will have a job that truly makes a difference every day.
- Daily activities: In daily activities, you work as a work supervisor. Within daily activities, the participants' engagement is considered equal to work. Here, you will contribute to ensuring that participants in daily activities have as meaningful a life as possible based on their circumstances, wishes, and needs. Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- is at least 18 years old
- has graduated from or is currently attending high school or equivalent adult education
- has good knowledge of Swedish in speaking, writing, and reading comprehension
- is comfortable with digital tools such as computers, smartphones, and tablets.
It is an advantage if you:
- are educated or are in the process of being educated in areas such as health and care or other relevant fields
- have experience working with people
- in some operations, you need to have a B driver's license
- in some operations, you need to be able to cycle in all weather.
As a person, you are:
- good at collaborating
- able to adapt when things change
- empathetic
- energetic and engaged in your work.

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is protected. To use the title of nursing assistant, you must provide proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023. Those with nursing assistant education but lacking proof or certificate may temporarily hold the title of care assistant.
We will request a criminal record extract before an employment offer can be made.
Due to the nature of the work, you must be 18 years old, in accordance with the Work Environment Act and associated regulations.
In your application, you must state your citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.
