About the Position
In the role of a technical engineer within OT systems and measurement at our stations, you will work on our projects and in management. The role involves some fieldwork to optimize the measurement circuit and to manage and develop our OT systems (software). You will also be involved in developing our future digital measurement platform and further developing our analysis tools for monitoring the measurement systems.
Thanks to your background and experience, you will contribute with engagement in working with OT systems in our power grids, especially within the measurement process. Our main challenge is to develop digital solutions that are both OT-secure and manageable. We are facing technological shifts in both our measurement and OT systems and see an increased need for OT security in our stations due to the global situation and heightened preparedness requirements.
Svenska kraftnät has a very large project portfolio that we will implement while managing the existing grid. Within our area of responsibility, there are more than a thousand measurement systems. A unique challenge for Svenska kraftnät.
You will belong to the unit Communication and OT Services, which is also responsible for ensuring that our OT systems in our facilities are developed and function correctly. The unit is growing and as of February has sixteen employees, of which four are women. The ages range from 26 to 63 years. In addition, the unit has four resource consultants.
The unit consists of employees with long experience and high competence at the forefront of the area of responsibility, including measurement of electrical quantities in transmission networks. In this position, you will have the opportunity to develop into a future expert. In your role, you will work closely with your colleagues with great opportunities to receive support and assistance both within the unit and from other units, sections, and departments.
The unit is responsible for providing specialist competence and technical support within station communication and measurement to projects and management. The unit monitors and drives technological development within its area and participates in larger development initiatives. The area of responsibility includes, among other things, HMI, TPE, RTU, IT vulnerability analyses, time, event and alarm management, IEC61850, and measurement (e.g., energy measurement, PMU, and operational measurement).
