Field of Activity Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care
We in anesthesia, surgery, and intensive care take care of patients and families facing a critical moment. For some, we are the last hope. For others, we create an opportunity for a better life. Whether you work in the sterile supply department, in one of our flying operations, in the intensive care unit, or in surgery, you play a crucial role in critical moments. Welcome with your application to become a part of us.
Akademiska Hospital offers the opportunity for study salary for nurses accepted into the specialist nursing program in intensive care. Applications for the specialist nursing program - intensive care are made through the university.
If you are one of those offered a study salary, you will receive a position as a nurse in one of our intensive care units during your studies. After completing and passing the training, you will be employed as a specialist nurse in intensive care in the same unit. We look forward to you being an important resource in the development of our operations!
Conditions
Your study salary corresponds to 100% of the base salary (maximum 32,000 SEK/month) and is primarily aimed at nurses who are permanently employed, or who, in connection with recruitment, will have a permanent position at Akademiska Hospital, Region Uppsala, and start their education in the autumn semester of 2025 at Uppsala University. A study salary may also be offered for studies conducted at other institutions. The study salary is vacation salary qualifying and is not paid during holidays and any study breaks. The hospital prioritizes applicants who have not previously received a study salary during specialist training within Region Uppsala.
Since you are offered a position in one of our intensive care operations before the course starts, we have the opportunity to get to know each other already during the training period. This way, you will have the chance to meet your future colleagues and familiarize yourself with your future workplace and have a supervisor you can contact if questions arise along the way.
During the recruitment process, we will ask you to choose at least three of our different intensive care units and rank them based on where you would prefer to see your future placement. Placement will also be based on the needs of the operations. During the interview, there is an opportunity for dialogue regarding this choice. We would like you to come and shadow in our intensive care units to see what we have to offer.
One week before the start of the education, you will be offered a preparatory training containing various teaching moments focused on nursing in intensive care. This will give you a good preparation for the start of your specialist education as an intensive care nurse.
