About the Position

We are looking for a communicator with broad competence to our communications unit.

In this role, you will coach others in their communication while also developing and implementing communication initiatives in line with the communications unit's strategy and the organization's goals.

You will be part of a team where each employee has their own areas of responsibility to drive and develop. The position includes both overarching and operational work. The assignment is broad and also requires an interest in content creation, where photography, film, and visual storytelling are included as part of the communication work.

You will be part of the Business and Communications Unit, which belongs to the municipal management administration and is under the responsibility of the municipal executive board. The unit works based on politically decided goals where growth is in focus. Tidaholm and Skaraborg are to grow, and your role is an important part of this work.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date according to agreement.

Job Responsibilities

Examples of job responsibilities:

• Work effectively and strategically with communication, both internally and externally
• Support officials and politicians in communication issues, from case preparation to media contacts
• Plan, implement, and follow up on communication initiatives as part of the communication team
• Together with the unit, manage and develop the municipality's brands, including place branding and the municipality's brand
• Produce content and news for internal and external channels
• If necessary, photograph and film as part of content production
• Contribute to the municipality's development in AI related to communication
• Provide communication support to the operations within the organization

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in media or communication, or other education or experience that the employer considers equivalent.

We see that you have several years of experience working with communication issues, both internally and externally, and that you thrive in a role where you switch between strategic thinking and practical implementation.

You have experience working with communication support, preferably in the public sector. You have good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft 365 and experience working with the web.

We also see that you:

• Have a genuine interest in the world around you and keep yourself updated on developments in media and communication
• Are updated on current accessibility requirements and other laws we must adhere to in the communications field
• Desirable: Experience working with press issues
• Desirable: Knowledge in graphic work

To succeed in the role of communicator at Tidaholm Municipality, you are social, communicative, and have an easy time building relationships. You are self-driven, used to managing your own assignments, but also enjoy collaborating in a group. You can handle a periodically high pace and have a municipality-wide perspective in your work.

You see communication as a strategic tool and want to contribute to developing Tidaholm Municipality into a more communicative organization. At the same time, you have an interest in content, storytelling, and visual expressions, and see photography and film as natural parts of modern communication. You are also interested in communication issues related to social media, AI, and digital development.
