Within the Care and Welfare Administration, full-time work is the norm. This means that all permanent employees fundamentally have a full-time position. Åriket and Mumindalen
offer short-term stays for children and young people with multiple disabilities. We are located in the Norby area and have close access to forests, beautiful walking paths, and playgrounds. There is space for four and five children and young people respectively. The duration of the stay varies between 2 and 14 days per month based on decisions from the assistance officer.
Your tasks
As a residential assistant, you will provide support, service, and care for children with multiple disabilities. Tasks include medication management, contact with networks around the children (primarily guardians), cooking, cleaning, laundry, and other care needs. You are expected to maintain contact with relatives and work with implementation plans.
Administrative tasks such as establishing implementation plans and keeping records are also included, which is why very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is crucial for succeeding in the role.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone educated in care and welfare, a preschool teacher, or have other education that the employer considers equivalent. It is an advantage if you are a trained nursing assistant. To succeed in the role, you need to have experience working with children with multiple illnesses. The job also requires that you feel confident performing delegated tasks from other licensed staff. Experience working in adapted primary schools is also an advantage. The job requires that you have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
As a person, you are good at working with others and relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. Furthermore, you are meticulous and well aware of goals and quality standards and place great importance on meeting these. Last but not least, you take responsibility for your task and structure your approach independently.

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected title. To use the title of nursing assistant, you must provide proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023. If you have nursing assistant training but lack proof or certification, you may receive the title of care assistant during a transition period.
We will request an extract from the criminal record before an employment offer can be made.
In your application, you must state your citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.
Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve a military placement.
