The hospitals in the west are an administration within the Västra Götaland region and consist of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Your Future Workplace

The Operating Department is part of the An/Op/IVA business unit and has about 80 employees working in anesthesia, surgery, post-op, and sterilization at Alingsås Hospital.

We perform everything from simple day surgeries to extensive surgeries, both planned and emergency. We offer a wide range of services in orthopedics, surgery, urology, ENT, pediatrics, and pacemaker insertions, making the work varied and stimulating. We work systematically with patient flows and processes to provide our patients with high accessibility and good, safe care.

Job Responsibilities

As an operating nurse, you are an important part of the surgical team and work together with surgeons, anesthesia nurses, nursing assistants, and anesthesiologists in the operating room. You need to be flexible and able to work at a varying pace. You work in a high-tech environment where the patient is the focus and are responsible for asepsis and sterility. You work independently in your professional role but have the entire team in close collaboration to provide good and safe care during the patient's surgery.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse with specialized training in operating room nursing. Previous experience as an operating nurse is an advantage.

Your perspective is characterized by care for people, and you have a good ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams.

Conditions

The working hours are mainly scheduled during the day from Monday to Friday, and you are off on weekends and public holidays. When you are ready, evening, weekend, and on-call duties will be included (about one evening every other week and every 5th weekend, Saturday or Sunday) as we take care of our emergency patients.
