In 2026, the Swedish Transport Administration plans to start some of the major contracts for the Norrbotniabanan on the Umeå-Skellefteå stretch. Therefore, we need to strengthen our team with production support regarding the environment, which together with our project managers and other skilled employees will drive the construction of the Norrbotniabanan.

Job Responsibilities

As production support for the environment, you are responsible for coordinating and reviewing inventories and investigations from both clients and contractors. You will follow up on the contractor's systematic environmental work and will be continuously present at construction sites.

Your focus in the Norrbotniabanan program will be to work in the construction phase with environmental issues related to land, water, air, climate, nature, noise, and vibrations. 

The job responsibilities include following up on environmental requirements, monitoring compliance with the Environmental Code and the Cultural Heritage Act, producing environmental documents, investigating, assessing, engaging in dialogue, and reporting to supervisory authorities, contributing to self-monitoring and follow-up in the Transport Administration's control program, participating in the contractor's environmental rounds, etc.

Examples of job responsibilities:

  • Based on the project's contract documents, drive the project's environmental work
  • Follow the Transport Administration's management system within the knowledge area and continuously work for continuous improvements
  • Follow/use internal working methods, routines, instructions, method descriptions, templates, and tools. Guide project organizations in the application of these
  • Provide advice and instructions for problem-solving and carry out tasks related to the knowledge area
  • Conduct checks to ensure that the project's documents and documentation meet environmental legislation and internal environmental requirements and decisions
  • Ensure that the requirements in permit matters, notification matters, and exemptions are complied with and documented
  • Work towards and contribute to ensuring that the solutions and methods applied are sustainable, functional, and economical from a lifecycle perspective
  • Participate in the review of as-built documents and management data before handover
  • Follow up and document environmental work/environmental controls according to the control program
  • Follow up on the contractor's work preparations
  • Participate and drive environmental issues in meetings with the contractor
  • Follow up and participate in environmental rounds

The place of employment is Skellefteå.

Qualifications

Who are you?

To succeed in this role, we see that you should have good communication skills and enjoy collaborating; this is because you have many contact points and collaborations both internally and externally.

You are structured and enjoy working according to clear processes, while also having the ability to prioritize in large flows and quickly analyze what is required to move the project forward. You take responsibility for your work and plan and organize effectively to meet set deadlines. You have an unpretentious attitude and actively contribute to common goals.

We are looking for someone who has

  • a university or college education of at least 180 credits in construction and civil engineering, urban development, or urban planning. Alternatively, other education combined with experience that we assess as equivalent
  • several years of relevant and current experience working with environmental issues in infrastructure or urban development projects or experience that we assess as equivalent
  • good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
  • a B driver's license for passenger cars

It is meritorious if you have

  • experience from railway projects
  • experience of large projects with many actors and a lot of coordination that we assess as relevant for the position
  • current experience of one or more of the following systems: Project Wise, Projektportalen, and/or Equis
