Project Manager for Bridge Maintenance at the Swedish Transport Administration

Job Responsibilities

In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to manage maintenance projects for civil engineering structures in road and railway facilities in the Northern region. As a Project Manager in Bridge Maintenance, you will be involved in all phases of the project and are responsible for the overall management, steering, and follow-up of the projects, ensuring that the Swedish Transport Administration receives what we have ordered/procured. The role includes responsibility for the budget during the planning and execution phases as well as in the follow-up of your projects. As a project manager, you will have many points of contact; collaboration with other parties is a natural part of your daily work - both internally at the Swedish Transport Administration and externally with municipalities, citizens, businesses, etc.

You will join the Civil Engineering unit, which currently consists of a dozen employees located throughout the region and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of our civil engineering structures (bridges, tunnels, and rock cuts) within the region. Our mission includes assessing the condition, planning, and executing preventive and corrective measures, as well as sometimes replacing existing structures.

Location: Skellefteå or Umeå.

Qualifications

Your leadership is characterized by building trust, driving projects independently, and delivering results. You have good communication skills, which means you convey messages in a simple way, are attentive, and adapt your communication to the audience. You are proactive, structured, and quality-conscious in your commitments and possess strong analytical skills.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a technical university or college degree of at least 180 credits/120 points, but you may also have a different educational background complemented by relevant experience in project management and/or industry experience that the Swedish Transport Administration deems equivalent
  • current and relevant experience for the position in construction/infrastructure, such as project manager, assignment manager, site manager, or experience deemed equivalent by the Swedish Transport Administration
  • experience working with budgets, forecasts, and financial follow-up
  • good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
  • a valid driver's license for passenger cars

It is also an advantage if you have:

  • managed projects within the operation and maintenance of roads/railways/civil engineering structures
  • experience working with bridge projects
  • current knowledge of contract law (e.g., AB/ABT/ABK and AMA)
  • worked in the management system BaTMan
