Financial Assistant for the Economic and Payroll Administration Unit

We are looking for a financial assistant for the Economic and Payroll Administration Unit. The unit has 9 employees and handles, among other things, customer invoicing, ongoing accounting, and payroll administration for the municipality, including its companies. With us, you will have the opportunity to work broadly and develop in several areas. We work closely with the operations and have a clear focus on collaboration, participation, and the development of financial management.

Job Responsibilities

The position mainly involves working with accounts receivable and customer invoicing, where you will be involved in:

  • invoicing and claims management
  • system administration in the customer invoicing system
  • case management related to invoicing within, for example, water and sewage, waste management, childcare, and elderly care.
  • Bookkeeping, statistics, investigations, and analyses

The role involves close collaboration with other departments within the municipality as well as with the municipality's Contact Center. You will also have a clear customer-facing role where customer service towards the municipality's residents is a natural part of everyday life.

The position also includes ongoing financial work such as daily bookkeeping, accounting, reconciliations in the financial statements, supplier and customer invoices, reporting statistics, investigations, and analyses, as well as carrying out elements of the municipality's internal control.

Qualifications

You have a high school diploma (economics) and at least two years of post-secondary education, as well as at least a couple of years of experience in similar tasks. Furthermore, you have good computer skills and are well acquainted with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience in politically governed organizations is an advantage. We are looking for someone who:

  • has a focus on delivering good service and a professional, friendly approach
  • takes responsibility, is solution-oriented, and easily adapts to new working methods
  • enjoys collaborating and communicating with different operations
  • is structured, meticulous, and analytical
  • has personal drive and a desire to develop – and to contribute to development

You identify with the desire to improve a little every day, both in your own work and in how we together create value for the municipality's residents and do not settle for “this is how we have always done it,” but want to contribute to improvements. An important part of the role is therefore to participate in – and preferably drive – work on automating and streamlining financial flows and work processes.

As an employee of Hultsfred municipality, you will be offered good opportunities for development and benefits. We want every employee to have a sustainable work life and feel secure in their employment. It is also important that our employees have a good balance between work life, family life, and leisure.
